Technicolor Lily Pond is the brainchild of Ellen Schneider a.k.a author E.A. Lawrence.  I am a biologist by training, a geek by nature, a writer of nifty pieces of prose, and a crafter. This blog is my attempt to share my creative endeavors with the world and by doing so challenge myself (and hopefully my readers) to continue to try different techniques, be creative, and actually finish projects.  In 2013 I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis but I am an avid reader, hobbyist nature photographer, crafter, writer, and scientist who is thankfully going strong. I find myself making a lot of things that are nature and/or folklore themed and/or just plain geeky. The sky is the limit when it comes to this blog and I thank you for joining me. Hopefully you find something inspiring and/or just plain enjoyable here at the pond.

  1. Ellen — Have found your blog and enjoy reading it, probably because we have a few things in common. I have a degree in Biology but have been out of the field for about 20 years now. Am an avid reader and a quilter too! Keep writing your truth!

  2. I accidentally stumbled on your site while traipsing about on Goodreads. Your pictures have a presence, their very alive, and convey a Zen-like tranquility. Thanks so much for sharing. I have bookmarked your page in my “chill” folder and will open it when I need to do exactly that, usually at work! I’m a wildlife biologist working with T&E species at a remediation site so you imagine how often I’ll be opening your page! I hope you add more photos and commentary as the seasons change. Thanks again.

    • Thank you, Ms. Trautman! I’m flattered that you enjoy my photography and my blog. Sometime I would love to chat science and books with you when you have the chance. Good luck with your remediation site and check back here at the pond often!

  3. Hello! I met your mom today in the waiting room at UM. She is a lovely lady and she informed me about your blog. Her love for you was very evident and I enjoyed speaking with her. I look forward to reading your blog! 🙂

    • Thank you so much! I’m glad that you had a great time talking with my mom, she is my heroine and I feel so blessed to be her daughter. Thank you for reading my blog, I hope you will keep stopping by the pond. 🙂
